Procedure:
Removal of the foreskin at the end of the penis. The remaining skin is stitched in place just below the head of the penis.
Risks of this procedure:
There are some risks/ complications, which include:
(a) The penis may not look cosmetically pleasing.
(b) The tip of the penis may be injured.
(c) Risk of bleeding from the wound
(d) The end of the penis may be raw and bleed after the operation.
(e) More skin may need to be removed.
(f) Scar tissue may cause blockage to urine flow from the end of the penis.
(g) Increased risk in obese people of wound infection, chest infection, heart and lung complications and thrombosis.
(h) Increased risk in smokers of wound and chest infections, heart and lung complications and thrombosis.
